As we all know in this game, you’re only as good as your last bad trial. Whilst we dedicate our lives at Kalyx to making sure that every single trial, no matter how big or small, is conducted to the highest standard, regrettably things can and will go wrong at times.
What we do pride ourselves on here is owning the problems that do arise, doing everything we can to rectify the situation and get as much quality data as we can out of a trial that hasn’t gone to plan, compensating the client appropriately and most importantly, reviewing the results to see what we can do better next time.
2022 was indeed a challenging year for trials plagued by wet weather, but despite those challenges we still believe that we could have done better in some regions and trials. We have learnt a few lessons that will make us better as we move into this coming season.
With ‘Quality & Value’ being one of our strategic pillars at Kalyx, this year more than ever we will be making sure that this is our number 1 focus. In times of rampant inflation which has impacted every aspect of our business, we naturally have had to review our pricing structures. In the absence of any significant change to the level of service we deliver, without such an increase, the temptation would be to cut the trial visits, push our teams harder, cut the inputs…CUT THE QUALITY! We refuse to compromise on quality as we know how important it is in our industry.
As we move into this coming season, we have significantly increased the size of our field team with roughly 25% more hands on deck than this time last year – primarily in field based roles. We have also added additional seeders, booms, utes and harvesters across the business.
To best support our new staff, equipment and resources we are introducing additional systems and processes to make sure that the quality of trial data as well as the service levels you experience will be higher than ever. We thank you for your ongoing support.
